still catching up. This baby was a family celebration. Mom wanted to celebrate the new arrival by involving grandparents and I was happy to document such a special time. Grandma had come all the way from Germany to see her first granddaughter. Every one in the family was beyond thrilled and I tried to capture them during this time of happiness.

This family is very special to me. I have become great friends with mom and feel very lucky to be given the honor of photographing them over the years. I have known this family since little miss G was born, one of my amazing baby planners…here she is at 6 months and here at 1yr. To say that we are like old friends is an understatement. Capturing them go through this amazing life changing time is such an honor. Mom wanted to capture her family and her belly. She wanted lots of belly shots and shots with belly and big sis. I am glad that I was able to accommodate. There are even more amazing pics not posted but I was trying to not overload the blog. LOL

My “baby” turns the big 8 – Austin Family Photographer

My baby turned 8 last week. I can’t even believe it. It was just last week that he was the chunkiest baby ever and had no hair. Every birthday is bitter sweet. I love watching him grow and become his own person. But every year I loose him just a little bit more. He is still a mommas boy so that helps dull the pain a little. Alex hugs me several times a day and tells me not to worry because he will love me forever. *swoon*

To celebrate his birthday we took him down to the Architects of Air exhibit that was at the Long Center. The wait was super long but it was totally worth it. I got to see this amazing piece of art and experience it with my kids. Alex would hug me and tell me that it was the best birthday surprise ever. We also took him the following day to The Main Event. My parents and sisters came to celebrate with us and it was just amazing. We played laser tag and I had a blast. I am also pretty good at it. I came in 4th out of the whole group. Not bad. Then we bowled and my bowling skills were *um* a little lacking. LOL

Alex said he loved his birthday weekend and that he can’t wait to see what I come up with next year. No pressure or anything. I will say that focusing on family for birthdays has been amazing. The best part of the weekend was spending time with family. And second best was of course the cake. We went with a gluten/dairy free cake with natural ingredients and it was so amazing. All my family said that this is our new go to place for all birthdays. It was seriously *amazing* Next birthday make sure to check out Bees Knees Bakery in Cedar park. I loved them!!

Someone is into Pokemon. He tells me all the names and it is like he is talking a different language. LOL

At 5pm the kids get to play pokemon on their D.S. They wait all day and watching them talk pokemon with each other is seriously priceless. Those are streamers we put up in his door way. He won’t let me take them down now. hahaha

Introducing Alex and The Kid – Austin Photographer

After 2 years in the making it is finally here. It all started with an idea. I wanted to incorporate my kids into my branding. Not my real kids but their alter egos. Alexander and The Kid is a reflection of who my kids are in their imagination. My kids are always dressing up and creating these amazing journeys and worlds for themselves. So I thought how amazing is childhood…you create your own worlds and live out these amazing made up stories.

Alex has always been my little super hero. He takes care of people and when he was little his favorite thing was wearing his superman cape. Enrique is my little pirate. He lived in caption Hook costume for most of the last two years. He would come in with this huge hat and a little sword tucked into his shorts and his buzz boots perfect for a fast get away.

I had this idea of what I wanted but had no idea how to make it come to life. This was when I hired and was paired with Ashley, Tyrie & Walter from Braizen. I had nothing but a half idea of what I wanted. I knew I wanted my kids as an illustration and would probably have to change my name from Sara Lopez Photography. So they went to work and came up with the idea of Alexander and The Kid. After a lot of work, the design and name was agreed upon.

My kids are my muses. They give me a love for life. I bring that love and happiness to every session. Every image I take my goal is to capture childhood. Not just the perfect smile images but the images that make you tear up because you can feel your child’s personality come out.

I hope that you join me on my new journey.
